| For Anyone who saw the
movie "The Shining" or perhaps read the book by Stephen
King called "The Shining" will be all too familiar. Stephen
King stayed in room 217 while writing the book. It is rumored to
be one of the most haunted rooms.
Room 401 is also a site for ghostly activity as well
as the entire 4th floor. As the story goes the 4th floor was once
the servants quarters. Was there a housekeeper with two children
who chose to stay?.To this day there are complaints of children
running and playing down the halls of the 4th floor even when there
are no children present. There are often accounts of people hearing
children playing with a ball on that floor. When seen, people have
witnessed a boy and girl. They are seldom seen apart. Apparently
75% of the Stanley have witnesses something paranormal.
Mark & I were honored when asked to speak on EVP at "The
Stanley". Not only were we among such celebrities as "The
Ghost Hunters" themselves but also Chris Fleming star of The
Biography channel's Dead Famous, famed Paranormal Authors Janice
Oberding and Leslie Rule. The Event was put on by Dave Schrader of
www.darknessradio.com
and congratulations to Dave and Partner Tim on their very successful
conference!
As far as our investigation, I find it easier to
investigate with less people, unfortunately this is nearly impossible
at Conferences of any kind. ( Especially with evp.) We arrived on
a Thurs. before most of the others had arrived. I was immediately
drawn to the 4th floor near the stairwell. I felt immense activity
for an otherwise quiet floor.
Another strange thing was as always when children
are amongst the spirits we like to bring toys and such. this trip
we bought two balls. as usual I stuff everything in my oversized
purse. Well before I had the chance to offer the children the balls
I realized they were gone-completely disappeared. Was it the children
or my neglect? Mark & I are still not sure.
Thanks to Dave we were given access to room 401,
where as seen on "Ghost-Hunters" The closet door seemed
to open at will. This also being the room where Jason's glass shattered
on the night stand.
